This is a quick start. Read the Editor Guide if you plan to make important modifications.

Creating an Account
Simply click on the Login link in the sidebar menu to create your account.
Please note that the anti-spam system might block your account creation. If it does, please follow the instructions listed in the error message to get your account created.
Your username should be in the format "FirstnameLastname" ("IrcNickname" or your Debian developer login are fine too).
To create a wiki Homepage (optional), click on the '?' beside your name in the top left menu (look closely, it is initially greyed out), then click on "Create my home page now!" at the bottom.
If you have a specific interest in some page, you may want to "subscribe" to it (in your UserPreferences page).

Editing
Here's a very quick introduction. You can experiment in WikiSandBox. For more help, see moinmoin's HelpOnEditing and Syntax reference. Reading the Debian Wiki's Editor Guide is a good idea.
Emphasis: Italics and bold text.

Commands and literals: monospaced also known as fixed width text.

Headings: (like the "Editing" header above).

Lists: (sample below). The items can be numbered (1., a., A., i., I.), or bulleted ( * );

the space at the beginning of the line is mandatory (use many for indentation).
