Debian Weekly News (DWN) was a weekly electronic magazine that summarised the development and events going on in the Debian community. It was distributed via the web at http://www.debian.org/News/weekly and as mail on the debian-news@lists.debian.org list.
This service had been started in 1999 by JoeyHess and had been continued by several different people after a good two years, then by Joey Schulze with the help of a few contributors. In 2006, Debian Weekly News stopped being published weekly. The last weekly issue was published on 2006-09-26. 9 more non-weekly issues were published, until the last issue edited by Joey Schulze, on 2007-07-03. In 2008, new editors restarted a new magazine largely identical to Debian Weekly News, but no more published weekly and called Debian Project News.
