Slink is the code name for a former Stable Debian distribution. It was released on March 9th 1998 as Debian GNU/Linux 2.1, It was superseded by Debian/Potato on 15 Aug 2000.

04 Nov 1998 : Announcement of Upcoming Release (press release).
09 Mar 1999 : Initial released : 2.1r0 (press release).
?? ??? ???? : Updated (2.1r1) (not announced, never released ?).
27 Jun 1999 : Updated (2.1r2) (mailing-list announcement).
04 Sep 1999 : Updated (2.1r3) (mailing-list announcement).
15 Dec 1999 : Updated (2.1r4) (press release).
16 Jan 2000 : Announcement of Next-Upcoming Release (Potato) (press release).
16 Feb 2000 : Updated (2.1r5) (press release).
15 Aug 2000 : Debian/Slink becomes old-stable. (i.e A new stable is released : Potato).
14 Sep 2000 : Announcement of the end of security Update (mailing list 1 and 2).
30 Oct 2000 : End of security updates (i.e End of life.). The distribution is moved to archive.
