This page tracks problems with the DebianInstaller daily developmental builds on a daily basis. If you are using a daily build and it breaks, check here before filing a bug report.
This is not intended as a replacement for the BTS, just a quick list of the most pressing issues of the day. This page is maintained by the d-i developers. We only list issues here that affect many users. If you feel an issue should be added, please ask on #debian-boot on irc.debian.org or send an e-mail to debian-boot@lists.debian.org.
Note
The issues listed below do not affect official releases; see the errata for the relevant release instead:
[http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/debian-installer/ Official Sarge installation images (3.1r1)] - [http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/debian-installer/index#errata errata]

Also, daily builds sometimes fail. Check this page to see if a daily build is current or failing: http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/build-logs.html
Current issues
[5 Jun 06] DNS resolution is broken in current daily builds ([http://bugs.debian.org/370523 #370523]).
- [1 Aug 05] sparc: netboot image needs to be passed ramdisk_size=16000 to boot the 2.4 kernel properly.
Past issues
[2 Jun 06] debootstrap fails due to dpkg breakage ([http://bugs.debian.org/369928 #369928]).
[9 Apr 06] There are no new daily builds for amd64 due to integration in the main archive.
[17 May 06] The new busybox can segfault when executing the 'tr' command ([http://bugs.debian.org/367783 #367783]). This may result in breakage in unexpected places. We have confirmed that LVM and RAID installations are affected. Default installations on i386 seem unaffected.
[17 May 06] The new busybox does not support 'umount -a' ([http://bugs.debian.org/367714 #367714]). This may result in a fsck after the reboot.
- [16 May 06] Installs using 2.2 and 2.4 kernels are broken because of missing modutils and possibly other issues after a switch to a new version of busybox
[22 Apr 06] X may not be installed correctly from the Desktop task and fail to start after the reboot. As Xorg is currently undergoing a major transition, please try to work around the problem yourself, possibly by installing missing packages or reconfiguring Xorg. See Xorg69To7. As soon as things have stabilized again we will work on making Desktop installations work again by default.
[22 Apr 06] Installation of the 2.4 kernel is broken by [http://bugs.debian.org/364338 #364338], will not affect default 2.6 installs.
[16 Apr 06] Installing the base system from netinst and full CDs that were built since probably the beginning of this month has been broken because of a change in the dependencies of a package in base. The issue has been fixed and images built on 18 April and later should be OK again.
- [20 Mar 05] powerpc: daily builds broken
- [21 Mar 06] Base installation will fail because of a script error.
Sid/Unstable
You cannot install sid using the netinst CD daily image, only etch. Use netboot installation method or business card CD image.
