We need experienced programmers, as well as translators, and documentation writers to help continuing development of the DebianInstaller.
Here's how to help:
Sign up to the debian-boot mailing list and introduce yourself.
Join the IRC channel #debian-boot
Fix any of the DebianInstaller/Bugs. Or check to see if bugs still exist.
Test the DebianInstaller on your hardware, especially if you have access to non Intel computers.
Process installation reports. See DebianInstaller/ProcessingInstallationReports.
Check the TODO for tasks needing attention.
For non coder contributors
Contribute documentation updates. The source code for the end-user manual for the installer lives in git https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/installation-guide, while the finished product for the current stable release can be found here. Technical documentation lives within each sub-package's git repository, with an overview here.
Translators, see the translation status page.
For coder contributors
Browse the code repository. We have a top-level git repository, and also many package git repositories, one per package.
CheckOut the installer from git, using mr.
See https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/debian-installer/tree/master/doc/devel in git for developer documentation.
