Debian-Installer

"After using the Debian-Installer, please send us an installation report using the template ( http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/report-template ), even if there weren't any problems." -- http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/

Currently broken things

  • Installations on G5 Xserves (kernel freezes soon after boot, bug #276397)
  • Installations on older ["SPARCs"] OldSparcInstall

  • Installations on IBM Netvista desktops (cannot mount CDROM)
    • (works fine if you start from Floppies)
  • Installation on SATA HD (["ICH5"]) with kernel 2.6
  • linux26 and linux24 both hang after detecting and loading 3w-xxxx driver (3ware ata-raid driver)
  • linux26 after boot ( pivot_root No such file or dir. /sbin/init: 426 cannot open dev/console : no such file) Kernel panic.! (3ware sata-raid) [Note: you can fix this by chroot into /target, edit /etc/mkinitrd/modules and add 3w_9xxx, and re-run mkinitrd]
  • ["RAID1"] with swap on the first partition and root on the second partition (on the two disks of course) don't boot after GRUB install. Workaround: edit the GRUB root parameter after it fails and change (hd0,0) to (hd0,1).
