MiniDebConf Kanpur 2026
Overview
MiniDebConf Kanpur 2026 is an upcoming community-organized event focused on Debian GNU/Linux and free software. It will bring together Debian contributors, developers, and enthusiasts from India and beyond for talks, workshops, and collaborative sessions. It is being organised at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur on 14th and 15th March 2026.

How to reach the venue
Kanpur Chakeri Airport is the nearest airport from the venue —Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur— while the nearest railway station is Kanpur Central.
Kanpur also has a metro transit system, and the closest metro station to both Railway Station and Airport is Kanpur Central Metro Station. You can take a metro ride from there to IIT Kanpur Metro Station.

Note: The distance from Kanpur Airport to Kanpur Central Metro Station is 14 km, but it is the nearest metro station from the airport.
Call For Proposals
Calls for proposals of talks and workshops are now open. We are accepting proposals related to Debian or Free Software in general. You can talk about Debian or a project that you implemented or discuss about Free Software in general. Furthermore, note that talks can be submitted either in English or Hindi.
You can submit your proposal here. The last date to submit your CFP is February 10, 2026.

Accommodation
Accommodations will be provided in University Common Room Hostels, holding 50 people in each room.
Food
Lunches on both days of the conference are included within the conference registration fees, these will be provided in the IIT Kanpur mess halls, and will be limited to Vegetarian options provided on those days.
