We are planning 2011 edition of MiniDebConf India in 4 cities. These events focus on bringing new people upto speed on contributing to debian by bringing existing debian contributers as mentors. Listen, Learn and Practice is our mantra.

An outline of the event structure

  • day 1 - introduction to debian and one special interest group
  • day 2 - hands on packaging workshop
  • day 3 - package softwares in the chosen area of focus

  • Pune, Maharashtra - July/August, Vishwakarma Institute of Technology(VIT), Bibwewadi
  • Ahmedabad, Gujarat - (open)

Make sure computers with access to a debian archive over a network is available to all participants. We will have to try distributed adhoc wifi pools to scale up, since any labs cannot accommodate a large turn out.
