Installing Gnome
Under Sid:
The current metapackage for installing a good set of Gnome tools is gnome-desktop-environment. So, from the command line, run
aptitude install gnome-desktop-environment
Under Sarge:
No metapackage exists. To install basic set of components, run
aptitude install gnome-core --with-suggests
Under Woody:
No metapackage exists. Again, run
aptitude install gnome-core --with-suggests
