Sick of cold, wet, grey and boring? European winter's got you down? Time to dust off those keyboards, get outside and meet some peole cause it's springtime! Yet. DebConf is still so far away — but what's that? The Austrian Alps are calling :O. Must be the meltwater gushing over mountain cliffs.
MountainCamp invites you to the city of Innsbruck for a weekend of hacking on Debian, fixing bugs, building tools, meeting and learning from your fellow Debianites. Whether you're new to in-person Debian events or a known quantity we're excited to have you!
Continuing the tradition of SunCamp (2016, 2017) and SnowCamp (2018, 2019, 2020) there are no talks. Only hallway-track without the scheduled distractions ;-).

How to get there
TL;DR: Take a train to Innsbruck Hbf and walk 1 km to Tschamlerstraße 3.
By train
Innsbruck is at the heart of the European rail system, at the intersection of the North-South (Munich-Verona) and East-West (Budapest-Vienna-Zurich) lines. Direct night trains stop at Innsbruck Hbf (Hbf - Hauptbahnhof - main station).
Long distance trains: ÖBB (Ticketing) (Trip planner):
Main station, Innsbruck Hbf is in walking distance (15 min).
S-Bahn station, Westbahnhof is closer (10 min walking).
Connecting from Innsbruck Hbf:
Buses to Kaiserschützenplatz (3 min walking):
Local (IVB) Bus K (8 min trip, recommended) departing right outside Hbf building or
Regional (VVT) Buses like 505/540/401 (6 min trip) departing under Ibis hotel to the left of Hbf main exits. Be careful not to land in the next town over.
Trams to Cinneplexx (Fritz-Konzert-Straße) (4 min walking):
Tram STB (15 min trip),
Tram 1 (25 min trip).
Bus/Tram Planning:
Overview of IVB/VVT platforms at Innsbruck Hbf.
Öffi App (F-Droid) works well (and without non-free JS). Select "ÖBB Personenverkehr AG" transport network.
ÖBB Trip planner works,
IVB Schedule does too.
Bus/Tram Ticketing:
- For Local IVB services there are ticket machines. On-board sale suspended during SARS-CoV-2 epidemic and hasn't been re-instated.
- Regional VVT Busses
- Drivers sell tickets when getting on. The magic words are "One ticket to (zone) Innsbruck".
VVT 24-Ticket Innsbruck sold online is reasonably priced, costs 3% more than two single-trips.
- Local IVB tickets are also valid on VVT buses when traveling inside the Innsbruck zone.
