Feedback from the booth

We had a lot of questions from Debian users: - Why can't I scale my Gnome Desktop on Debian to a value between 100% and 200%? - Why does my XFCE Desktop shutdown when I close the laptop instead of continue running on my second screen? - My printer doesn't work.

Unfortunately most people do not provide enough information to enable us supporting them.

During the exhibition we started writing a FAQ:

Q: How can I help as a Newbie?

A:

1. Be patient

2. Search for friends

3. Make some good suggestions

Q: Why do you have an installer with default non-free firmware?

A: Because it simply works.

Q: What is the Linux Distribution I should use?

A: The one your best friends are using.

Q: How long will i386 be supported?

A: For quite some time .. but ARM32Bit will be supported even longer than 2038

Lessons Learned:

We did not have enough merchandise stuff - people were asking for that - and we only had one poster (space was provided for two posters).
