Basics
MiniDebCamp is some days of hacking on Debian and related stuff. No orga, no overhead, we just meet somewhere nice and interesting, and hack hack hack.
This one is taking place the three days before https://fosdem.org/2020/ at the Hackerspace Brussels (HSBXL).
Details
Announcement: https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2019/11/msg00006.html
Location: https://hsbxl.be/contact/ in Brussels, Belgium
the venue is not accessable (sorry!) and you really want to read the space's place to learn how to get there. Just using the address and a navigation system might prove *interesting*...
- IRC: #debconf-fosdem on irc.oftc.net
Address: Rue du la petit isle 1, 1070 Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium [spelling on OSM: 'Rue de la Petite Île' in French, 'Klein Eilandstraat' in Dutch]
- Start: 2020/01/29 Wednesday morning, 10:00 localtime or probably even earlier
- End: 2020/01/31 Friday evening, 19:37 localtime
Main website: https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEvents/be/2020/MiniDebCamp
Coordinator: holger@debian.org
Organisation
BYOD and do your own organisation! Everything is self organized and provided, except what the location provides (which includes network and drinks, but no food and no place to sleep and no stage for video coverage neither...) and this wiki page!
Hackerspace Brussels (HSBXL) also hosts Byteweek that week, for groups like us, see https://hsbxl.be/events/byteweek/2020/
If we find the space will be too crowded and/or too small, we can always book a bigger room in Brussels. (Though I think this is unlikely as HSBXL has plenty of space.)
As usual, we apply the DebConf Code of Conduct and the Debian Code of Conduct and aim to be excellent to each other!
Open tasks
- [x] announcement mail
- [ ] a logo?
- [ ] print t-shirts? (self paid?)
- [ ] 3d print the logo at HSBXL for every attendee?
- [ ] we could do a day trip and do some sight seeing during the day! maybe on Thursday and probably someone local driving this would be a good idea too.
Who will be there and "why"
Please enter yourself here if you plan to attend (mostly so that we can estimate space needs, but also that others know about other people working on $stuff).

Sprints
The DebConf video team intends to hold a sprint during this ?MiniDebCamp. More info at https://wiki.debian.org/Sprints/2020/DebConfVideoTeamSprintAtFOSDEM2020
Informal lightning talks session of Friday afternoon
- IMSI-catcher demo by Oros
- checkcertif by Oros (tool for detecting man in the middle attack with https certificates)
- urbec - could improvise something - in worst case would read vogon poetry or even worse, Debian policy :P
highvoltage - can do an ultra-quick less than a minute demo of calamares on the framebuffer if anyone is interested
