The current ["DebianStable"] distribution was developed under the code name Etch. It was released on Apr 8th 2007 as Debian GNU/Linux 4.0, prior to which it was the DebianTesting distribution.

Etch is officially supported on the following [:Architectures:architectures] : alpha, amd64, arm, hppa, i386, ia64, m68k, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc.
