Where

Extremadura organizers have decided that during easter season, a beautiful hall of residence of the University of Extremadura would be the best place to stay. Located in Jarandilla de la Vera in the Cáceres province.

Networking stuff- like cables, switches, APs, etc - is provided for University and the Junta de Extremadura. If you have any specific needs you can't carry with you, please inform organizers.

Accommodation

The organizers have reserved 12 double rooms for the event. If you have any preferences who to be with, edit DebianEmbeddedWorkSessionExtremadura2006/Bedrooms. Else we'll fill you in :)

Transport from Madrid Airport to Jarandilla

Extremadura has organized a bus for us. The bus in will be in the bus parking of Terminal 1, it's from the "Autobuses Gonzalez" company. It will be there at 13.00, and leaves as soon the people from .fi (the last flight we know people are coming with) get throught the airport. If needed, anyone can call Dario to his cell phone, he'll be at the airport.

Food

The sponsor is also taking care of food for the attendees. If somebody have any particular preference/need (like vegans or allergies) please contact the Local Contacts.

Agenda

These are mostly ideas I gathered when I got the idea of this session. I haven't recieved much feedback, so I assume these ideas are not completly off base. I hope people think a bit about the big picture, and how to save their own work in long term by getting more embedded friendlyness in Debian.

Announcements

Attendees

Please add you own name, e-mail address, country (2-letter code) and airport of origin (3 letter code)

The number of attending people is strictly limited to 20, for lodging reasons. In case the final count exceeds that number, choices will have to be made, sorry for this.

Flight tickets status

Ticket information has been sent. Arrival information of Guillem, Philippe and Alexander is still unknown!

Madrid Airport warning

All flights are going to Madrid, they have a new Terminal 4, a.k.a Terminator 4. Be aware, that people lose baggage and flights because flighing gates are 20-25 minutes away from security point, and a long way from checking point. Take this as a *WARNING* and please take care with your baggage. Also baggage handling is automatic and i think they really need some emdebian geeks to stay over there for a couple months fixing their stuff. Please *DO NOT LOSE YOUR GADGETS*.

Ie, try survive with just hand luggage!

Sure

Hardware and interests

Since we are embedded, instead of say, s390, getting target hardware transported is easy. One of the advantages of meeting physically we exploit is meeting with systems you don't deal with usually. putting them in handluggage is good idea :)
