Skolelinux 3.0 (a.k.a. "Terra") is to be released on July XXth, 2007. The release includes many major changes, described in our [http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/PressReleases/PressRelease_DebianEdu-3.0_Terra press release] and the [http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/ReleaseNotes_3.0_Terra Release Notes].
This page outlines the timetable for the upcoming release.
The current status is X P1 bugs blocking release, documentation is not complete enough, a press-kit is in production and the release is outlined to happen on the XXth of July 2007 at this point. The date of release might be put off by a day or two, depending on the bug-status, documentation availability and general momentum.
2007-07-XX 12:00 CEST International press-kit is sent to predefined media contacts and made available online for download by blogers et. al.
2007-07-XX 14:00 CEST Selected media are called up about the release and given incentives to write about the release, directly pitches about the press-kit, etc.
2007-07-XX 23:00 CEST Final deadline for documentation, test-installations
2007-07-XX+1 00:00 CEST Upload of the final build of the 3.0 release is done to the FTP-sites
2007-07-XX+1 12:00 CEST Release of Debian-Edu/Skolelinux 3.0 codename "Terra" is announced on relevant mailing lists, submitted to Slashdot, Digg, etc.
2007-07-XX+2 10:00 CEST Selected media not responding on 2007-07-XX are called up and given the press-kit again.
