Minutes
1. Who can write the summary?
Holger Levsen (h01ger) volunteered to write the summary.
2. Status of the release
see http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Status/Etch
2.1. remaining p1+p2 bugs: At the moment that is 5 bugs, two ([http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1165 #1165], [http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1209 #1209]) related to thin client access currently being worked on by Daniel, and one ([http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1210 #1210]) related to converting the LTSP chroot from thin clients to thin clients and diskless workstations being worked on by Klaus Ade and Petter. We are unsure if anyone is working on the remaining two ([http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1179 #1179], [http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1180 #1180]).
bugs mentioned 1211 1179 1180 1165 1209 1151 1210 bugs nice to have fixed: #1203 1002 1083
2.2. LDAP SSL certificate checking, or not? Bug [http://bugs.skolelinux.org/1211 #1211].
it seems we haven't been able to fix this bug, so white asked someone for help
2.3. RC4?
we go for rc4 this weekend. saturday is left for fixing all p1+p2 bugs and sunday for building & testing move packages from etch-test to etch on saturday night
2.4. [http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/PressReleases/PressRelease_DebianEdu-3.0_Terra release notes]
the press release should be translated. the press release at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/PressReleases/PressRelease_DebianEdu-3.0_Terra needs finishing. http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/ReleaseNotes needs cleanup too. urge k4x, knut, akai and others (YOU) to polish the press release
2.5. final testing
skipped
2.6. announcing
skipped
2.7. anything else?
white wants a release party
3. debian-edu security announces - why manually copied from debian dsa, replace by procmail rule?
there is a dsa-parser (to aid the debian-edu security team in automatically sending out debian-edu relevant DSAs) on alioth svn/debian-edu/trunk/security but white says it has too many false positives.
white has the following wishes for the parser: 1. going through a proxy, 2. checking false positives, 3. working with the python version in etch and sid (but they should be identical now, right?)
4. Cipux
we should limit promotion of server systems to production ready software.
installing a test or development version of tuxracer (which is now called planetpenguinracer) or openoffice is something different than installing a development version of the central ldap tool, which essentially has root on all machines.
5. next meeting
