We believe that the latest release candidate is ready to be release as the new stable DebianEdu/Skolelinux 2.0, but since it's just released, we would like some days before we make it an offisial 2.0. You can fetch it from

Please note that this is based on the Stable (Sarge) version of Debian that was released as Stable in June 2005, and that many schools have been using this version since August 2005 (some even schools have even used a sarge based installation since August 2004)

Stable versions

The stable version is based on the Old-stable (woody) version of Debian. Please use the Sarge based version instead

Images for PowerPC

There is also a image for PowerPC availible, but this has some booting problem for Macintosh. For a PegasosII PowerPC it shoudl be working without much trouble.

Updating the CD

If you already have a version of Skolelinux and want to download the newest version, you can and should use rsync. rsync' finds which chunks of the file that have been modified and downloads only those. It's faster and saves our bandwith. The following command updates your ISO-image, where filename.iso is the name of the existing file on your disk:

rsync ftp.skolelinux.no::skolelinux-cd/skolelinux-i386-release-1.0r1+di_rc2.iso filename.iso
