FAQ

Can I participate in the party (i.e., eat and drink) if I haven’t brought anything?

• Sure, you can. We do not require you to bring anything to share. However, the greater the cheesy variety, the better the party will be. If it is not possible to bring cheese or wine, you can buy some locally in Santa Fe (see below), or you can bring some other food or drink typical of your region.

I couldn’t bring anything from home but would like to participate. Is there a way to do so?

• You can buy something at Santa Fe.

I brought XXX and do not know where to store it!

• (Fridges TBD) Please, keep your cheese in your fridge, but also any beverage that need to be served refrigerated like juices and sodas, cider, beer, white and rosé wines etc. we will collect the goods on Monday 20th

I forgot what I brought!

• Please make sure your C&W submissions are listed in the wiki, and labelled, so that this does not happen.

Is there anything special I should do when bringing my C&W submissions?

• Please make sure all items are clearly identified. If the packaging does not say what you’ve brought, please label it yourself. The label should say what it is, where it comes from, and (if relevant) what it is made of.

• If your item unexpectedly contains allergens or things people may wish to avoid (e.g. shellfish, pork, alcohol), please point it out.
• Please specify whether the item is vegetarian or non-vegetarian when delivering it.

Vegans do not eat cheese. Can they still attend?

• Yes! We accept (and encourage) the submission of vegan friendly food (including vegan cheese).

I do not drink alcohol. Can I still attend?

• Yes! We will have water, sodas and juices too.

Customs regulations

If you're traveling to Argentina from abroad, please take a moment to check customs regulations before packing your goodies.

You're generally allowed to bring food items that don't contain meat or dairy. However, fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and unpasteurized dairy products are usually prohibited.

These rules help protect local agriculture from pests and diseases - so it's best to double-check before you fly. Here's a helpful link from Argentina Customs:

If you comply with these limits, you will not have to declare anything.

What will be available during the party?

Please add your entry in alphabetical order. Please choose one, two, or exceptionally three, representative cheeses or food items from a place (list of cheeses).

It is recommended to target pieces that can be cut in about 10/20 slices/portions/whatever each.

We will try to label stuff based on the information pasted on this list, so please put everything here!

Considering that the food comes from different countries and languages, in order to speed up the efficiency and accuracy of labeling, labels will be printed and affixed on the food plates in advance before the party.

We encourage providers to fill in the food story introduction so that participants can understand the story behind the food.
