In DebConf24 in Busan, many people asked about the idea to host DebConf in Thailand. So, yes, we will do our best to make it happens.

Venue
We could use IT Center Building/Central Library, Khon Kaen University - Home of ?ftp.th.debian.org, Khon Kaen, The venue is one of universal design building.
Time
- Potentially, some two weeks between April and June. Will be more specific when we learn more about semester break policy of the university.
Transportation
- Between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi, and Donmeuang) and Khon Kaen ~ 10 flights daily
- Between airport to the city center, or the campus - Taxi, metered + 50 THB.
- Between the campus and the city - city bus, city van, ride sharing (Grab car, Grab Win), rental
- In the campus - free shuttle bus
Food
- Food are relatively cheap in Khon Kaen, $USD 2-6 for a good Thai dish or noodles, $USD 5-20 for all-you-can-eat BBQ, shabu shabu, or Vietnamese Nem nướng. Be aware that good/specialty coffee in Khon Kaen can be relatively expensive, e.g., $USD 3-4 for drip, cold brew, espresso, or americano. But, we can set a coffee lab in social space like we have in Busan.
Conference facilities
- Room capacity is ranging from 30 to 300 seats. All are air-conditioned, well-equipped with audio/visual, Wi-Fi APs.
Connectivity
- 3 Internet uplink to 3 different ISPs, 10-Gbps each to national and neutral IXs.
- 100-Gbps core campus network, 10/ 2.5/1-Gbps to each building
- 8,000+ Wi-Fi APs
Accommodation
- In-campus dormitories should be available during semester break. Optionally, the university hotel could also be use. There are also hotels in the city.
Child Care
- Child care could be arranged at the venue
Medical
The university has 7 hospitals in the campus, the main hospital, Srinagarind Hospital, is a super tertiary care, very capable and generally regarded as one of the final referral.
Free time
- The campus is about 2,200 acres, provides wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, trails, running, cycling, museum, etc.
- Campus life! there are foods, drinks, cafe, shops, near by the campus. And you can travel by a free shuttle bus.
- The city center is about 5 km from the campus. Shopping malls, department stores, restaurants, pubs, lakes, parks, temples.
- For fun and free time, you could use a city bus, city van, ride-sharing, rent a bike or a car.
