This is just to give a bit of an idea on the software I use on various machines. I try to mostly use lightweight GUI or CLI apps. Personally for myself I use the [[http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst|Debian Net Install CD]] and do a base install and from there I can install the software I want with apt-get generally starting off with the window manager and the xorg GPU drivers, as I try to keep my systems small and functional as possible.
