BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol used for distributing large amounts of data.

Debian provides many BitTorrent clients. Use apt-cache search bittorrent to get the list (or search on https://packages.debian.org).

qbittorrent - A popular and advanced cross-platform alternative to µTorrent. With Qt user interface.
transmission-gtk - A popular and basic BitTorrent Client using a GTK interface.
rtorrent - A console based BitTorrent, with ncurses interface.
transmission-daemon - A BitTorrent client daemon.
transmission-cli - A non-interactive console interface for transmission-daemon.
