Although I've been using Unix since 1991, I didn't switch my home workstation to Debian GNU/Linux until 2005. I'm still a fan of my previous favorite flavor, NetBSD, but I a feel more at home with the Debian community.
I believe that ethical choices shouldn't be ignored in computing simply because computers are darn useful tools. Computers have a much larger impact on our society than can be measured economically. The Debian Social Contract is a good first step to bringing morality into the discussion.
