I started writing here at wiki.debian.org on the 09th of October 2009. I had recently used the wiki to locate infos on the transition from Grub1 to Grub2 and I thought I could give a hand with the Italian translations since I noticed that the Grub page didn't have an Italian version yet.

Who knows maybe it will come a time when I'll be able to write a page myself.... right now I stick to translations.

If you find any error on the pages I translated and you don't know how to edit the page yourself or you don't want to, feel free to contact me by mail. Thanks. Any other comment is also welcome.

2020 Update

I have been a Debian translator for quite some time now, and I am the Italian l10n team coordinator (although I don't do much justice to the title).

I always think that I would like to apply to become a DPM, but I never do... but who knows.

Ho iniziato a scrivere qui su wiki.debian.org il 9 ottobre 2009. Traduco per Debian da un po' di tempo; sono la coordinatrice per il team di localizzazione in italiano, anche se non faccio onore al titolo.

Add an Anchor: use <<Anchor(<anchor_name>)>>
Insert a snippet from another page (es. an original, very technical, frequently changing table from the master English page):
1. Put start and ending tag in the original page with the contents you want to include:
```
##TAG:<DESCRIPTIVE-NAME-OF-SNIPPET>_START
 .....
##TAG:<DESCRIPTIVE-NAME-OF-SNIPPET>_END

2. In the translate page insert a line similar to the following example in the position where the original text is to be included:

```
  Examples of good descriptive names of snippets would be: driver-list, supported-hardware, usage statistics, ...

Make translation header always up to date

In the original English page

Make sure the English language is a self-referencing link to the English page itself (not a simple text), like this:
```
[[<PageName>|English]]
```

Insert this before the line with the list of translations (remember to substitute the real page name to PAGENAME):

##For Translators - to have a constantly up to date translation header in you page, you can just add a line like the following (with the comment's character at the start of the line removed)
##<<Include(<PAGENAME>, ,from="^##TAG:TRANSLATION-HEADER-START",to="^##TAG:TRANSLATION-HEADER-END")>>
##TAG:TRANSLATION-HEADER-START

Insert this after the line with the list of translations:
```

```

In your translated page
1. Insert this instead of the translation line (remember to substitute the real page name to PAGENAME):

```
