Transport

The location is within walking distance of Vienna's main train station (Hauptbahnhof Wien), which is well-connected via public transport to all parts of Vienna (and the airport, which is slightly outside of town).

There's a bus line (69A) and a tram line (D) with a stop even closer to the location called "Alfred-Adler-Straße".

If you come by car, there are two commercial parking garages nearby in Maria-Lassnig-Straße. Please note that the immediate neighbourhood is a pedestrian area where cars are not allowed to enter at all. If you need to drop off luggage, please park in the "(un)loading spot" in Maria-Lassnig-Straße 16, it's about 20 meters away from the entrance by foot from there.

Accomodation

There are plenty of hotels of all styles (chain, boutique, budget) nearby because of the proximity to the train station. Since the weekend also marks the start of the Easter holidays, there might be more tourists in town than usual. If you need help with finding accomodations, please contact FabianG (see above).

Travel reimbursement

If you need travel reimbursement to come to the Debian BSP in Vienna please read and follow the Travel reimbursement for BSPs announcement from our Debian project leader.

Bring

Please consider bringing the following items:

Bugs, Targets, Ideals

Sightseeing

If there is enough interest we can organize a sightseeing tour trough Vienna on one afternoon, depending on the weather.

Catering

Food will be organized and sponsored by Proxmox. Details TBD/TBA once attendee list is starting to fill ;)

Holidays in Vienna/Austria or what to do before/after the BSP

Vienna offers all sorts of possibilities for visitors to enjoy - there's plenty of cultural events, museums, architecture as well as nearby nature to check out. If you need specific recommendations, please reach out to FabianG. If you want to visit Bratislava, talk to andrewsh. If you're interested in Permacomputing, you might want to check out this post for a Tuesday, April 15 meetup (added by joostvb).
