Transport

Alcester can be reached by bus, but they tend to be inconvenient. Nearest stations are about ten miles away.

From the North: find the southerly ring of the M42, and then take the A435 (J3) through Studley, Coughton and to Alcester. Leave the A435 after Coughton at the large roundabout with the B4089, B4090 and take the Birmingham Road into Alcester.

From the East: aim for Warwick, and take the A46 westbound past Stratford-upon-Avon and towards Alcester. Do not follow a sat-nav if it suggests leaving the A46 on the A3400 (could happen at a large roundabout - go straight over, do not turn right). Continue along the A46 up Red Hill, past the Stag pub and down the steep slope. After several junctions and a lay-by on the right, the road widens. Look out for a white sign directing you to the right towards Oversley Green with a weight restrictions. Turn right towards Oversley, following the Stratford Road and later Trench Lane into Alcester.

From the South: use the M40 and then proceed as above from Warwick.

From the West/SW: use the M5 and A46 north-bound past Evesham and Bidford, and at the large roundabout take the A435 northbound. At the small roundabout following the bridge, turn right into Alcester.

Accommodation and food

There is no guest accomodation at the house. The Swan Hotel has been acceptable on previous occasions, and is very convenient.

Tea/(instant) coffee/cold drinks provided. If you have preferences, like real coffee, please bring them. For food, Alcester has a selection of pubs and restaurants we can visit, unless people fancy trying to cook in what's left of my kitchen.

Bring

Please consider bringing the following items:

There is a local mirror of amd64+i386 for Wheezy, Jessie and Sid (plus some others). If you'd like anything else exotic, please bring it on a USB drive and it can be served from the mirror.
