Total capacity is probably seven plus hosts. We might squeeze in one or two more if you really want to come.

Details

Note: There are honey bees at the bottom of the garden, but far enough away not to disturb us. By October they will be tucked up for the winter anyway. If you are allergic to stings, please make sure someone at the BSP is aware.

Transport

  • By car: easy access from M42, M40, M5, M1, A46. Free public car park is available in the same street. Some on-street parking at the venue but it is busy; other free car parks a short walk away (nearest about five minutes walk).
  • By train: nearest stations are Redditch (from Birmingham New Street) and Stratford-upon-Avon (from Birmingham Moor Street, Marylebone/Paddington and connections from Warwick and Leamington Spa). Buses from Redditch are reasonable; from Stratford are infrequent. Lifts can be arranged, both stations are about 20 minutes by car so group collections are preferable.

Accomodation

Two good hotels/B&Bs are nearby: The Swan (guide: £40/£55) is basic and just a few doors down the street but at this stage call them. The Globe is full.

Roomsharing (add yourself if you're willing to share a twin room):

We don't really have room to accommodate anyone in the house, unless you are particularly fond of concrete or bring a campbed. If you'd struggle with the cost of a room at the Swan, please mail jmw@debian.org and we'll discuss sponsorship - and please do this rather than not come!

Use of basic kitchen, or good food is available a stone's throw away.

If the weather is nice outside working is a possibility.

Resources

There is plenty of power. Internet connectivity is 6Mb ADSL with wired and wireless access. There is no local mirror; if one can be supplied by an attendee it would be helpful. codehelp has an external SATA drive with a mirror for sid & wheezy, i386 & amd64 and jmw has a box to serve it from.

Bring

Please consider bringing the following items:

  • computers
  • tardis
  • up-to-date mirror
