Transportation

  • The railway station (Mönchengladbach Hbf) is about 650m away from credativ and easily reachable from Düsseldorf and Cologne. Use exit "Europaplatz" or "Central Bus Station".

    • A map of the way from the railway station to credativ GmbH is available here: Google Maps

    • If you have a Symbian S60 3rd edition phone, you could install the DB RailNavigator and download the necessary timetables to your phone.

    • If you have a Android phone, you could install FahrplanDE app from the market. However it partially needs online access (should be possible to access stored transport connections without an internet connection)
  • Airports near Mönchengladbach:
  • Public transport is provided by Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr

Participants

The office and our free accommodation is crowded now, please do not register yourself any more. Talk to Bernd Zeimetz if you would like to join and we'll seeif there is a way to make it possible.

List of participants moved to ?BSP2010/Moenchengladbach/Participants.

Information about the credativ office

  • Do not enter empty/closed offices. We might kick you out of the company.

  • Please keep the front door closed. You need to ring the bell (well you should use all 3) if you want to get into the house. Worst case try to call phone extension -196 or -198
  • There are 3 Hacklabs on different floors. Just follow the signs and find a place.
    • If you arrive before 16:00 / 4pm (local time) on Friday, please go to Hacklab 1. (Third Floor)

    • NOC is at Hacklab1
  • We'll have a small chill out area at the third floor in case you need a couch to fall asleep during the day ;)

  • The kitchen is located at the first floor. If you want to have something to drink (or eat), just go there and take what you want.
    • If you take something to drink from the fridge, put a new bottle back in.
  • There is a limited amount of free coffee available in the kitchen. The good Senseo coffee is available in the Hacklab 1 under the roof, please put 0.20 EUR into the glass for each cup.

Networking

  • NEVER run dhcpd servers, radvd or similar things in the network. We'll hunt you down and squash you like a bug ;)

  • ipv6 is available.
    • If you have ipv6 addresses from somewhere else on your laptop, make sure you don't create a routing mess :)

  • Please bring your own network cable (3-5m).

  • WiFi will be available. SSID: BSP2010 and BSP2010-noV6

    • Look around to find the WPA(2)-PSK. There should be a sign in each hacklab.
    • If you need ipv6, don't use APs with the SSID BSP2010-noV6 as they block v6 for unknown reasons (and no, there is no *WRT for them available :) )

  • If you need more than one (or a fixed) IPv4 address, ask NOC (Hacklab 1, third floor)
  • Printer available in the Hacklab 1, announced by cups (hp4050duplex).

Bugs, Targets, Ideals

  • Please check if nobody else is working on a bug before you begin hacking!
  • Make sure you use 'bts claim' to claim bugs you want to work on.
  • An overview of claimed bugs is available on here.

  • Also check the bts.turmzimmer.net for comments on the bug status. Add comments there if you have information to add.

  • Use #debian-bugs on the OFTC Network and ?BSP2010/CoordinationTokyoMoenchengladbach if more coordination is needed.

  • Use #debian-admin on the OFTC Network (please respect channel policy) for install requests on debian.org-machines, or find Martin (Hacklab 1, third floor).
  • Use #debian-release or bugs.d.o (User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org, Usertag: transition) to coordinate library transitions.

Release-critical bugs:

More:

  • Take care of bugs found by piuparts

  • Help the ipv6 release goal by adding ipv6 support to programs which do not support it yet. There is a list of bugs to work on, but don't hesitate to file new ipv6-related bugs if you find them - and fix them!

  • Fix Bugs related to the Python2.6 transition, which should (hopefully!) start before the BSP.

  • Fix Bugs (1, 2) related to Debian GNU/kFreeBSD. Axel Beckert has root access on the porter machines io and asdfasdf and can install build-dependencies where necessary.

  • Find obsolete and unmaintained packages in unstable and file RoQA removal bugs.
  • Squash everything else you don't like (but let the DDs live)
