Results
Seven different people gathered in Utrecht to work towards the next release of Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 "Lenny". Although attendance was less than hoped, still significant amounts of work were performed, for example:
- Testing the beta2 installer on various platforms;
- Triaging, researching, patching and resolving various release critical bugs;
- Unblocking packages fixed in unstable for moving to Lenny, and removing buggy non-critical packages from Lenny;
- Working towards the POSIX compliant shell scripts release goal through testing and patching known bugs;
- Work on various other non-critical bugs, including work on Samba 4.
- Moving forums.debian.net from under someone's desk to an official Debian server, improving reliability and responsiveness of this popular service.
The organisers would like to thank A-Eskwadraat and Utrecht University for the supplied facilities, and Stichting NLnet foundation for supplying complementary food and drinks for the participants.
Transport
Utrecht is in the centre of the Netherlands and well-reachable.
International trains: there are many international trains connecting the Netherlands to the rest of Europe. Some stop at Utrecht Central Station: there is a direct ICE express train connection from Cologne and Düsseldorf which runs frequently. Alternatively, change for Utrecht at Rotterdam (from the south) or at Amersfoort (from the east), where direct, frequent connections to Utrecht are available.
Plane: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has a good connection to Utrecht Central Station; it takes only half an hour by direct train which runs every 15 minutes. Smaller airports are Rotterdam Airport and Eindhoven Airport; Rotterdam and Eindhoven are also connected by direct train to Utrecht Central, which takes about one hour.
Car: Utrecht is surrounded by highways; the BSP location is close to A27/A28. Free parking is available.
