NEWSFLASH: additional one-evening mini-BSP

On Wednesday the 18th of October, we're organising another evening of bugsquashing, a mini-BSP so you wish. Basically that means that Jeroen, Bas and Thijs will be present fixing bugs, and anyone else is welcome to join in.

The location is the same as for the BSP detailed below; starts around 17.00. Food can be ordered (but probably needs to be paid for).

BSP 29 September - 1 October

We are going to join the ["BSPMarathon"] with a bug-squashing party in [http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=52.084359,5.174561&spn=0.077638,0.130291&om=1 Utrecht, NL] on the weekend starting on September 29th 2006.

As phrased so well by Loïc Minier: "Anyone wanting to get the RC count down while drinking all forms of beverages and cutting down its sleep cycle is invited."

[http://www.nlnet.nl NLnet foundation] has generously agreed to sponsor the facilities for this BSP. Their main motive is the advancement and spreading of new network technology. Resolving bugs that relate to network technology (e.g. the IPv6 release goal or on network-related packages) is especially encouraged, but of course every other bug deserves squashing aswell.

[http://www.uu.nl Utrecht University] provides rooms and connectivity free of charge.

[http://www.a-eskwadraat.nl Study Association A-Eskwadraat] also provides rooms and various practical matters.

Transport

Utrecht is well-connected to the rest of Europe. It's easy to reach by train from the whole of The Netherlands, Germany and France. There's a direct train connection from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (at least every 30m, takes 30m), and there are also direct trains from Eindhoven (near Eindhoven Airport (EIN), having Ryanair), and Rotterdam (near Rotterdam Airport), as well as ICE train connections to Düsseldorf, Köln and Frankfurt. Railways: http://ns.nl

There's plenty of free parking available at the Princetonplein (directly north of the building on the above Google Maps photo). There's also a fast bus service from Utrecht central station.

If you can't find it, can't make it or if there's other information you want to share during the weekend, call the landline number above (030-2534499), it connects straight into the BSP!

What to Bring

ICPC Qualifying Round

From the bureau of barely interesting trivia: this weekend, the same building will host the local contest for the ICPC Programming Contest on Saturday from 12.00 - 17.00. This is the preliminary for the [http://www.nkp.nl Benelux Algorithm Programming Contest] in Leiden. Check out [http://www.a-eskwadraat.nl ESCapade] (in Dutch) for information.
