In September nineteen eighty two I initially stepped foot in the Portuguese Algarve and was amazed at what I discovered. It offers many beaches that range from long stretches of gold colored sand to marvellously secret 'craggy coves'.The people are very pleasant and receive people warmly and so guaranteeing a vacation that will stay on in the memory for a very long time.Near to Guia, lives Sir Cliff Richard. Not only is he an famous figure in the music industry but a really nice guy indeed and very well liked. http://media4.picsearch.com/is?-5nXAi_bCG7YR396qsZVVwWHq5XG5Y6j6kDWyL0beCA&height=180 (He actually offered my family a Watermelon last year as a present). He resides in an upmarket tranquil and affluent vicinity surrounded by many other quality properties, but none are as distinguished as his. Sir Cliff is not only renowned as a singing superstar but as a wine grower of significant standing. You can try his good choice of wines close by, at his 'Adega do Cantor'. Translated into English it means the 'Wine Cellar of the Singer'. Most appropriate.Guia is world famous for Frango Piri-Piri, translated to English means Chicken Piri-Piri. The recipe is transferred down from generation to generation and the recipe is preserved well under wraps. There are many Piri-piri dining places in the Village with all the Chef's saying that theirs is the very best! We all have our favourites nonetheless all of them are superb. The Village, although only about a 10 minute drive to the tourist town of Albufeira, is not however inundated with tourists. It provides a fine balance of foreign residents, local people and holidaymakers. It is a super spot. It also has a number of banks, Post office, mini market, bakery etc. A real treat for all the family, particularly the Children is 'Zoomarine'. It is located a few minutes drive from Guia to the west. All the group will have a great time and is in my opinion a must visit attraction. There is an marine area comparable but not as large as Sea world in Florida. There are Kid's rides, really large swimming Pool etc. However the best bit for me (and the [[http://search.Huffingtonpost.com/search?q=youngsters&s_it=header_form_v1|youngsters]] seem to agree) is the show that the Dolphins put on. You'll really love this. You can see them performing all sorts of aerobatics, leaping high and all over the place. They seem to be really enjoying themselves particularly as they are presented a piece of Fish after every part of their performance. Well earned. Also pop inside the four D theatre, you'll rather be happy you did . I won't tell you too much about it so as not to spoil it for you. Adequate to say you'll seriously enjoy it.....even more important, so will the Children!<<BR>>
