Task description
The main goal of the team is about packaging fonts designed for the system. We mostly package TrueType and OpenType fonts.
We also package some tools designed to deal and build fonts (such as fontforge - and the rest of the open-font-design-toolkit)
we review existing fonts in the archive for redundancy, description accuracy, licensing compliance, etc.
We're in touch with the type design community to encourage them to use FLOSS licenses for their creation.
We test and tweak the interaction of fonts with other parts of the OS especially in the area of i18n (Unicode coverage, style coherence per language, smart features, etc)
Get involved
The team is open to everyone who would like to help.
