Nautilus is the official file manager for the Gnome desktop environment. It is designed to be primarly a file manager, but there are support for web and file viewing too. This page is meant to help you find information about Nautilus.
How to get a root nautilus
The Gnome Nautilus Mime Type configuration tool will also define mime types for Mozilla. The configuration tool /usr/bin/gnome-file-types-properties will edit the following user configuration files:
- $HOME/.gnome/mime-info/user.keys: List mime types and the associated application/viewer.
- $HOME/.gnome/mime-info/user.mime: Mime types and the associted file extention
Note: This is old and outdated info for GNOME <= 2.4. Since 2.8 GNOME fully supports the freedesktop.org standards. This info needs to be updated.
