This page attempts to gather information about using Debian in the field of Experimental Psychology.
Alioth Project
The pkg-exppsy project on Alioth strives to provide more software related to Experimental Psychology for Debian. This includes packaging available software, but also upstream development of new tools.
Upstream Development
PyEPL -- library for coding psychology experiments in Python (Debian package, Git repository)
PyMVPA -- pattern recognition module for Python, especially suited for neuroimaging datasets (Git repository)
PyNIfTI -- Python-style access to NIfTI and ANALYZE files (Debian package, Git repository)
PyEEG -- library to aid in the analysis of EEG data in Python (Hg repository)
Debian Packaging
Some Debian packages maintained by the exppsy project are closely related to neuroimaging ( Caret, dicomnifti, FSL and FSLView, nifticlib and PyNIfTI). More information about these packages is available on the DebianMedImaging wiki page of the DebianMed project.
KBibTeX -- BibTeX editor for KDE (Debian package)
Psignifit -- Commandline tool for fitting and testing hypotheses about psychometric functions (Debian package)
pyglet -- a cross-platform windowing and multimedia library (Git repository)
More Useful Software
This is a non-exhaustive list of useful software. For some there is already a Debian package available in the Debian archive. The Experimental Psychology Project on Alioth provides preliminary packages for some others.
For the moment binary packages for some distributions and platforms are provided in a private repository. See this page for more information.
