This page tracks problems with the DebianInstaller daily developmental builds on a daily basis. If you are using a daily build and it breaks, check here before filing a bug report.
This is not intended as a replacement for the BTS, just a quick list of the most pressing issues of the day. This page is maintained by the d-i developers. We only list issues here that affect many users. If you feel an issue should be added, please ask on #debian-boot on irc.debian.org or send an e-mail to debian-boot@lists.debian.org.
Notes
The issues listed below do not affect the stable release; see the errata instead:
Official releases and weekly builds for the testing distribution are in general also not affected. The exception to this rule is when an issue is caused not by a component of the installer, but by a regular package and that package is retrieved from a network mirror during the installation.
See also the errata for the last official release for the testing distribution. Some of the issues listed there may still apply to daily and weekly built images.
Also, daily builds for one or more architectures sometimes fail, in which case daily built images may be unavailable or outdated. Check the daily builds overview to see if a daily build is current or failing.

Past
Dates are when the issue was first identified, and give an indication if older images were affected or not. Current images should no longer be affected by issues listed here.
[06 Jun 2009] Testing base system fails to install because of 532050 (debootstrap segfault). Installing unstable is OK.
[20 Oct 2007] Installer doesn’t start on mips and mipsel (445507) – there is a workaround in place for this issue though. Bug fixed on May 17th 2009 and workaround removed.
[26 March 2009] A problem with libresolv-2.9 as included in the initrd of the Squeeze d-i businesscard CD causes wget to segfault. See bug report 520711.
- [February 2009] dailies on powerpc aren't being built currently, because the machine on which this is done is an old powermac that is no longer able to run a recent kernel; this is a problem as the kernel it runs is older then the minimal kernel required for glibc 2.9 or current udev.
[07 March 2009] Hard disk detection problems with daily builds (518837)
[18 May 2009] Daily builds that include brltty-udeb http://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/amd64/20090518-00:00/build_netboot.log are failing: 529526
[19 May 2009] user-setup fails when installing unstable because of behaviour changes in passwd: 528610 and 529475
Sid/Unstable
You cannot install unstable (sid) using the daily netinst CD image, only testing (squeeze). To install unstable, use either the netboot installation method or a daily businesscard CD image; you will need to boot the installer in expert mode or with priority=medium.
