This page contains notes about attempting to install Debian (testing) on an ACER computer with SATA disk. The SATA chipset is from ALI (ULI?).
Main problem: No partionable media found
After a lot of searching and trial and error, we got further by doing things in the following order:
- boot from netinstall CD as usual
- When error message received, go to a virtual console and execute
- modprobe SATA_ULI
- Go back and reattempt hard disk detection. Which now should work.
