A meeting in Extremadura?
The original annoncement : http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/12/msg00003.html
Other possible sources of funding (Extremadura offer is currently restricted to European developers) from FriendsOfDebian.
Location availability
According to WorkSessionsExtremadura we have "reserved" the meeting 7. - 11. of June.
Extremadura will provide both travel, housing and food. They will purchase an eticket for you, giving your passport number and name. You will go to the airport and pick up your ticket, identifying yourself with your passport. It is important that passport, given passport number and you match.
Please send your Passport Number and your Name EXACTLY as it apprears in your passport to andreas@schuldei.org. This is required for the eticket. Wrong Name or Number -> no Ticket!
(Why is this required? Others have been able to sponsor travel into Spain with only the name and address provided. I tested this 2006-02-16. - Petter)
Where
Extremadura organizers have decided that during easter season, a beautiful hall of residence of the University of Extremadura would be the best place to stay. Located in Jarandilla de la Vera in the Cáceres province.
Networking stuff- like cables, switches, APs, etc - is provided for University and the Junta de Extremadura. If you have any specific needs you can't carry with you, please inform organizers.
Participants
Important: César will be at Terminal 4 wearing the Debconf6 T-shirt in the taxis area. The bus will be there at 13:30. If you are arriving to a different terminal you will have to take the free bus to terminal 4, it takes about 15 minutes. We will wait until everybody is in the bus. Steffen Joeris
Siegel Jean Charles Arnaud Luquin Dominique Rousseau The French team will present the state of the Intranet project based on Moodle during the first meeting, and explain the new Debian packages made for that. A member of each country would be welcome in this team
luk and h01ger discussed to file wishlist-bugs against all packages debian-edu-config modifies, so that those packages provide useful debconf-questions for debian-edu to use. can/should we start working on fixing those bugs ourselves (by providing patches in the bts first...) Some thoughts on IRC: <luk> I do think that 311188 gets too little attention as I'm sure other projects would be (are) interested in how to solve it, maybe I (or someone else) should start a discussion on debian-devel about it? <h01ger> luk, sounds reasonable. we'll discuss it in extremadura as well. (sorry, no video streaming <luk> when is that meeting, next weekend? <xorAxAx> luk: begins on wednesday <luk> ok, note that some ideas about fixing the wishlist bugs are introducing debconf questions or configuration changing programs, creating the file in the maintainerscripts (so it's no conffile anymore) or introducing a way to include extra configuration (like udev did) <luk> note also that introducing hyperlinks and just plain changing configuration files of other packages might also be problems though IMHO not as severe as touching conffiles <luk> though some people might disagree with me on the last thing <luk> another solution might be to only ship the (empty) configuration file in usr/share/doc/<package>/examples so it's no conffile... <luk> this sounds rather absurd, though there are some of these between the bugs I filed (conffiles with only comments)
